{"id":15828,"date":"2023-09-09T18:40:31","date_gmt":"2023-09-09T08:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/australianmetarmaps.com.au\/?page_id=15828"},"modified":"2023-09-09T18:46:23","modified_gmt":"2023-09-09T08:46:23","slug":"how-change-your-config-file","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/australianmetarmaps.com.au\/index.php\/how-change-your-config-file\/","title":{"rendered":"How to change your config file"},"content":{"rendered":"\n  <div id=\"page-header-55076294\" class=\"page-header-wrapper\">\n  <div class=\"page-title light simple-title\">\n\n    \n    <div class=\"page-title-inner container align-center text-center flex-row-col medium-flex-wrap\" >\n              <div class=\"title-wrapper is-large flex-col\">\n          <h1 class=\"entry-title mb-0\">\n            How to change your config file          <\/h1>\n        <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"title-content flex-col\">\n        <div class=\"title-breadcrumbs pb-half pt-half\"><nav class=\"woocommerce-breadcrumb breadcrumbs uppercase\" aria-label=\"Breadcrumb\">Home<\/nav><\/div>      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n       <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n  \n\n<p>Your METAR map has a few options that you can change if you want to.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the list of options that you can change at the moment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brightness of the LEDs<\/li>\n<li>Colours of the LEDs<\/li>\n<li>Lightning being displayed<\/li>\n<li>How long the lightning will be displayed<\/li>\n<li>How often the map will refresh the METARs<\/li>\n<li>Whether to fade the METAR changes or not<\/li>\n<li>Whether you want Unknown METARs to show something or not<\/li>\n<li>High winds being displayed<\/li>\n<li>Wind speed to trigger the high winds<\/li>\n<li>How long the high winds will be displayed<\/li>\n<li>The sources that the map will look to for METARs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What you will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows or Mac PC connected to the same network as your map<\/li>\n<li>Putty installed if using windows (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.putty.org\/\">https:\/\/www.putty.org\/<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>The IP address of the Raspberry Pi your map uses. 1020px) 100vw, 1020px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once logged in you will need to type&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>sudo nano \/etc\/rpi_metar.conf<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>and press ENTER<\/p>\n<p><img the arrow or page down keys to the bottom and you will see a section called settings and possibly 2 other sections called legend, colors or flight_categories.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img can change any of the options.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to change the colours of the LED&#8217;s you can make the [flight_categories] section and below it is where you can make the changes just like in the above example.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to make custom colours you would make the [colors] section and use GRB (Green, Red, Blue) as your guide.
